Camillia’s Faves: Jo Malone London Cologne
I’m an easy influence. I’ve been looking for a new perfume for over a year. I’ve tried a few but didn’t like the overpowering nature of many of them.
Feeling defeated that I was wasting money buying perfumes only to fall out of love them a few wears later, I googled “What perfume did Princess Diana wear?”. Up popped Wild Bluebell and I’ve been a devoted fan girl ever since (note the name of the blog!). Today, I’m excited to share my two favourite scents: Wild Bluebell and Orange Blossom- but also two other divine scents: the earthy Wood Sage & Sea Salt and the elegant Peony & Blush Suede.
Orange Blossom: Among Jo Malone’s treasures, Orange Blossom quickly stole my heart. It’s also Kate Middletons’ go-to scent. Bursting with the sunny warmth of citrus fruits and the delicate sweetness of orange blossom flowers, this fragrance is like a refreshing breeze on a hot summer day. It’s no surprise that even Jennifer Aniston is said to be a fan!
Wild Bluebell: Ah, Wild Bluebell – the scent that inspired me to start this website. Beloved by the iconic Princess Diana herself, this fragrance captures the ethereal essence of dewy bluebells, lily of the valley, and crisp green notes. Sometimes it reminds me of Watermelon rines. A definite spring fave.
Wood Sage & Sea Salt: Adding to the allure of Jo Malone’s collection is Wood Sage & Sea Salt, a fragrance that transports you to the rugged coastlines with its earthy, woody scent infused with the freshness of sea salt. At first, I turned up my nose but it’s grown on me and now I keep a sample in my purse for a re-spritz throughout the day. This scent is perfect for those who long for a touch of the seaside wherever they go and those looking for something Unisex.
Peony & Blush Suede: Last but certainly not least, Peony & Blush Suede exudes elegance with its delicate floral notes of peony and the soft, suede-like warmth of blush. I love to wear this on date nights. Very romantic.
If you’re not ready to invest, you can start with the Jo Malone Discover set at Sephora. I keep this in my purse (as evidenced by the wrinkles in the photo), and I took it to NYC rather than packing a full bottle.
The discovery set comes with English Pear & Freesia, Peony & Blush Suede, Wood Sage & Sea Salt, Nectarine Blossom & Honey, and Wild Bluebell and is an affordable $26CDN
