Mint Julep: Recreating Disney Home

As soon as I stepped foot into Disneyland on my 40th birthday, I had one thing on my mind: Ride Peter Pan, and then get a Mint Julep! Every day of our magical adventure, I made sure to grab a Mint Julep along with some mouthwatering Mickey Beignets. I missed them when I came home and searched for the perfect recipe I could replicate at home.

My family must have known, because I received The Unofficial Disney Parks Drink Recipe Book by Ashley Craft for Christmas. After a trip to the grocery store, we whipped up a few Mint Juleps while watching a movie (Moana of course).

To create this drink you will need to make a mint simple syrup. I used this one from All Recipes.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup lemonade
  • 1/2 cup club soda
  • 2 tablespoons mint simple syrup
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 lemon wheel, for garnish
  • 1 fresh mint leaf, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a glass, combine the lemonade and club soda.
  2. Stir in the mint syrup until well mixed.
  3. Add the ice cubes and Garnish with a lemon wheel and a fresh mint leaf.
  4. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Mint Julep!

Note: You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less mint syrup according to your preference.

While nothing can truly replace the magic of Disneyland, recreating beloved park treats like the Mint Julep at home is a delightful way to bring a little taste of the magic into your everyday life.
